Island Hop Bakery was founded by Ms. Beverly Bates on January 2006. A native Trinidadian she grew up among some of the best cooks and bakers. Beverly fondly remembers her family gatherings that were always highlighted with delicious mouthwatering desserts. Since moving to the United States in 1974 her mother made sure that she did not forget her culture. By preparing authentic Caribbean desserts and using time honored recipes that have been passed down through generations, she has grown to appreciate what makes her culture so special. The care that was put into finding the right imported spices and insisting on using authentic ingredients such as imported banana leaves or pure double strength extracts instead of substitutions showed her how important is was to adhere with family traditions.

It is because of a love for Caribbean desserts that she started her own company, Island Hop Bakery. Beverly wanted to bring the true authentic taste of the Caribbean to the United States by using only the freshest ingredients and traditional methods. Island Hop desserts are rich and indulgent, the ingredients are all natural, and the process is done in small batches from scratch. The spices, exotic fruits and vegetables used to create their desserts show their commitment to producing an outstanding dessert native to the islands. Their experienced staff all has roots in the Caribbean culture and shares her passion in producing desserts that have a true island flavor.
